Our goals are pretty simple at HSA. We want to make our students better writers, art directors, account executives and strategists. Much better. That’s why everything we do is based on what we do everyday in the agencies where we work. We live what we teach so our students are better prepared for careers in advertising and marketing, agency-side and client-side. We also want to develop and keep great talent in Houston. Having a school dedicated to training local talent can’t hurt.

We started HSA because we saw the need for more training in Houston. Universities can only get you so far, and we established the school to bridge the gap between what agencies demand of new hires and what colleges can produce. And it’s a labor of love for all of us. We get to teach what we do everyday and we are all energized by our students’ passion for the business. Advertising and marketing can be less than glamorous sometimes.

Our instructors have the freedom to teach what they want, how they want it. Each of them have excelled in their careers and have a knack for sharing what they know. They keep it fun, but intense. Just how we like our jobs.

Who should attend HSA?

Students, interns, junior-level Creatives and AEs, Strategists, Planners, the lawyer or waiter who’s hungry for something new, even the small business owner who needs to make great ads in-house without spending a fortune on freelancers or an advertising agency. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never made an ad in your life. You just need the desire to learn and to make yourself better.
